One of Scotland’s largest law firms, Burness Paull & Williamsons, has appointed a new partner, Robin Clarkson, to its oil and gas team.
Mr Clarkson made the move to the recently merged firm from energy company Sterling Resources, where he was head of legal.
He had previously spent time working as a partner with Paull & Williamsons.
Mr Clarkson will deal with all aspects of upstream oil and gas law including acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures.
He said: “My experience of North Sea and overseas transactions, relating to both on and offshore assets, is a perfect fit with Burness Paull & Williamsons’ extensive client base of oil and gas companies.”
Chairman Philip Rodney said: “Robin’s appointment underlines our strategy of being a leading Scottish commercial-law firm.
“The addition of Robin’s skills and experience to our exploration and production division supports our increased market share in this important sector.”
Burness Paull & Williamsons is based in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The firm has 400 staff, including 58 partners and 183 lawyers.
