Offshore technology provider AGR Enhanced Drilling has dropped the name of its former parent company from its title, following a demerger from the Norwegian group last year.
The demerger plan was signed by AGR Group’s board in April last year, who claimed the stand-alone drilling business had “exciting prospects that the board of directors believes are
best developed by full separation.”
“As a natural follow-on from the demerger from AGR Group as announced last August, we will hereafter assume the branded name Enhanced Drilling. It’s the next logical step as a stand-alone business,” said David Hine, Enhanced Drilling chief executive.
The company is currently conducting a pilot of the next-generation of its managed pressure drilling (MPD) system, EC-Drill, on the Norwegian Continental Shelf’s Troll Field.
The technology is set to be used by Statoil on a five-well deep-water project in the Gulf of Mexico.
