Midwater drilling specialists Songa Offshore saw earnings from its Songa Trym rig hit after the December North Sea storms.
The rig, which has been working off Norway for Statoil, was forced to move from the Snilhorn well site by last month’s inclement weather conditions.
Songa said the Trym was back on site, but was waiting for weather conditions to improve once again to begin anchor handling.
It marked the only blip for the Cyprus-based firm, which saw perfect operational efficiency from its Songa Venus, Songa Mercur, Songa Dee and Songa Delta rigs.
The Venus, drilling in Malaysia, and Delta – currently under contract to Statoil – both achived 97% earnings efficiency, while the Dee, also in Norway for Statoil, achieved 95%.
The Songa Mercur, contracted to Eni’s operations in Vietnam, hit 99% earnings efficiency during the month.
