Russia’s Volga Gas’ monthly production has plunged this month due to ongoing testing of a gas sweetening process.
The firm, based in the Volga region, said average gas processing capacity was 7mmcfd in June, compared to 22.4mmcfd in May.
This was in order to permit full industrial testing of the new gas sweetening process.
Condensate levels also reduced from May’s 1,232, bpd to 483 bpd.
Oil levels remained relatively consistent, at around 500 bpd.
The reduction in production to to continue before full plant capacity comes back online in the coming months.
Group production is expected to return progressively to over 8,000 boe per day.
The implementation of the new Redox processing is expected to reduce processing costs materially and since Redox is regenerative, will substantially eliminate the requirement to dispose of spent chemicals.
