Industry body Oil & Gas UK has published more guidelines for North Sea operators to help them comply with regulations in the North Sea.
The work is part of a series of sets of guidelines being produced by the Well Life Cycle Practices Forum (WLCPF), set up following recommendations by the Oil Spill Prevention and Response Advisory Group in the wake of the Gulf of Mexico disaster in 2010.
The new publications give guidance on how much relief well planning operators have to carry out and the competency of people working on wells, especially those involved in well integrity.
Oil & Gas UK said: “These guidelines provide guidance, rather than standards, to support the regulations and associated guidance issued by the regulator but also the industry’s ongoing commitment to continual improvement in safety and performance throughout the life cycle of the well.
“They comprise the latest in a series of publications produced by the WLCPF, which has drawn on the specialist expertise of representatives from over 40 companies.”
