Aberdeen-based EnerMech has secured a three-year contract for offshore shutdown support services work on Dana Petroleum’s Triton asset.
The Triton floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel recently resumed production after months of inactivity.
Initially, production was shut down following January’s Storm Eowyn when it suffered damage, which in turn revealed other issues, leading to the extended downtime.
During downtime, Dana and project partner Serica Energy carried out a five-well campaign on the field, which was recently successfully completed.
Now that production has resumed, the Granite City business has picked up work on the asset, which is stationed around 120 miles east of Aberdeen under a contract which has a further two by two-year extension option period.
The deal was agreed for an undisclosed and work commenced in April. EnerMech hired 12 field personnel this year for work on the Triton FPSO.
EnerMech explained that it will deliver flange management, bolt torque and tensioning, on-site machining, nitrogen purging, nitrogen and helium leak detection and drain, flush, purge and vent services on the asset.
“In this instance, we are delivering a tailored solution that enables full visibility of the Triton FPSO’s condition as it enters late-life operations,” commented EnerMech chief executive, Charles ‘Chuck’ Davison Jr.
“Combined with our proven methodologies and responsive support model, we’re proud to be helping extend asset life, minimise downtime, and ensure safe and reliable performance.”
Davison explained that the latest contract award serves as a “milestone for our North Sea operations” as his firm targets global growth.
The firm is set to deploy its system integrity management (SIMPro) software, a digital solution for flange management and leak testing.
“Our SIMPro system has become a trusted solution for numerous customers globally, spanning industries such as energy, infrastructure, and nuclear, by providing real-time asset integrity data to support critical decision-making,” Davison continued.
Serica Energy owns a 46% stake in the Triton FPSO area with operator Dana accounting for 52% of ownership and the remaining 2% is claimed by Waldorf.
The Evelyn, Bittern, Guillemot West and Guillemot Northwest, Gannet E, Clapham, Pict and Saxon fields are currently operated by the vessel.
Frazer Thomson, senior vice president of energy solutions for EnerMech, added: “With our experienced asset integrity team and SIMPro’s customised dashboard providing real-time access to critical decision-making data, we’re well placed to help Dana Petroleum stay on schedule and deliver enhanced efficiencies.”
