Centurion Group has cut 12 jobs from its Aberdeen bases as it committed to “investing in the regions in which it operates”.
The business this week also confirmed that it had expanded its global leadership team with a series of senior appointments.
Centurion hired Adrian Hart as president of Centurion’s UK & Europe region, Gary Mawer as group operational efficiency director, and Chris Gindl as president of Centurion’s Canada region.
The business said that it is “committed to continuing to create skilled jobs” and it is understood that the cut positions were subject to a routine workforce review.
A spokesperson for the business said: “Centurion Group is a global leader in the supply of rentals and services to a range of critical industries for complex, challenging and remote locations.
“It is committed to creating high-value jobs and investing in the regions in which it operates.”
Centurion invests $24 million
The firm claimed to have invested “approximately $24 million globally, with meaningful investment in its UK operations”.
However, its ambitions to expand appear to come from mergers and acquisitions as the firm outlined.
“As part of its growth strategy, the company has an active acquisition pipeline with two targets currently under exclusivity, one in the UK and one in Australia, building on its successful acquisition track record, including the recent acquisition of Aerial Platforms Limited in Manchester, UK,” the spokesperson added.
The company cut 12 of its 378 jobs from the north-east of Scotland, however, the UK remains one of the firm’s biggest regions for employment.
“The UK represents approximately 20% of Centurion’s business, and the company is committed to continuing to create skilled jobs, drive growth and deliver value for the local economy,” the spokesperson concluded.
The firm recently appointed a new chief operating officer as Euan Leask, who took on the top job following Fernando Assing’s decision to step down.
Leask took over the firm at the end of the first quarter of 2025 having previously served as chief financial officer at the company’s Aberdeenshire office.
