Algerian government advisers yesterday met with oil and gas executives to discuss the state of the country’s hydrocarbon fields in Moscow.
The Gazprom headquarters played host to the meeting between their management committee chairman – Alexey Miller, Sonatrach head – Said Sahnoun and Ali Hashed – advisor to Algeria’s energy minister.
Sonatrach is Africa’s biggest oil and gas firm.
They discussed the current state of their collaboration on natural gas within the joint development of Algeria’s hydrocarbon fields.
The two companies are collaborating on the El Assel licensed area, within the Berkine Basin.
Starting in 2010 2D and 3D seismic survey operations were conducted and six exploratory wells drilled as part of a exploration and development project at the site – 310 miles south of Algiers.
They also discussed working together on new oil and gas projects liquefied natural gas projects.
