
Patty Eid has been appointed as UK-based training provider 3t Training Services’ new chief operating officer.
She will spearhead the company’s operational strategies and growth initiatives, with immediate responsibility for 3t’s training services and workforce solutions service lines.
In her new role as COO, Eid has a clear mission to lead the development and expansion of the company’s training programs and operational capabilities, designed to support the energy sector’s workforce needs.
Eid will be based in the Middle East but will cover all areas for 3t, which includes its US and UK centres.
She previously served 17 years at Petrofac, where she held senior roles such as global head of commercial asset solutions and global CEO of Petrofac Training Solutions.

This year saw 3t add Dan Taylor as its head of net zero.
Alex MacPhie is among three new appointments at the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) to lead the delivery of the offshore wind industrial growth plan (IGP), the industrial development programme developed by RenewableUK, the Offshore Wind Industry Council, the Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland.
MacPhie takes on the role of industrial development strategy manager. His key responsibilities will be to engage with stakeholders to interpret and evolve the IGP.
In addition, Rob Heaton will take on the role of interim supply chain development manager. He will lead the development of a national supply chain aligned with the industrial growth plan.
And Jonathan Bryers will serve as investments manager on a part-time interim basis.
He will lead the charge in unlocking capital for UK offshore wind supply chain growth, designing and implementing investment processes and coordinating financing strategies for high-impact projects aligned with the IGP.
OWGP programme director Anil Sayhan said: “The IGP sets out an ambitious, long-term vision for the UK’s offshore wind sector, but it’s the quality of delivery that will determine its success. These interim appointments bring deep industry experience and leadership capabilities to our team at a critical moment.

Adrian Hart is one of three senior appointments made at specialist rental and services provider Centurion Group.
He has taken on the role of president of Centurion’s UK & Europe region.
Previously employed as group managing director for Streetwise UK Management and Enviroflow Management (part of RSK Group), Hart brings a wealth of leadership experience from across the UK rental and services sector
His appointment comes as Centurion embarks on UK-wide expansion programme through a combination of organic initiatives and targeted acquisitions.
In addition, Gary Mawer joins from Scottish Water as group operational efficiency director, and Chris Gindl joins from Perma-Pipe as president of Centurion’s Canada region.
Mawer brings more than 20 years’ experience leading transformation and operational improvement programmes across the energy, infrastructure and engineering services sectors.
Grindl joins Centurion as the Canadian business seeks to expand its operations into new industries and locations across Canada.

However, Centurion Group also announced this week that it had cut 12 jobs from its Aberdeen bases as it looks to focus on “investing in the regions in which it operates”.
Stuart McLaren has taken on the role of head of nuclear and energy sector director for the UK and Ireland at professional services consultancy WSP.
The move aims to strengthen its position in the UK energy market and reaffirm its commitment to supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future.
McLaren brings over 20 years of experience in energy and infrastructure, having held senior roles at Arcadis, AECOM and most recently AtkinsRéalis, where he led global programmes focused on net zero, resilience and sustainability.
His appointment is a key part of WSP’s 2025-2027 strategic plan to accelerate growth in priority sectors, including nuclear.
WSP chief strategy officer in the UK and Ireland Paul Tremble said: “Stuart’s industry knowledge and leadership experience will be instrumental as we scale our energy capabilities and deliver lasting impact for our clients and communities.
“His appointment marks a significant investment in our nuclear strategy and builds on the strong momentum we’ve generated across the wider energy sector.”
Among WSP’s recent appointments are a new head of offshore wind, managing director of energy, and president and managing director.
Paul O’Brien has been appointed as inspection services director for Aberdeen-headquartered infrastructure repair group Glacier Energy.
O’Brien will lead Glacier Energy’s inspection services division, overseeing the growth and delivery of comprehensive inspection services globally.
He brings over 30 years of experience to the role, having held various senior positions in engineering, inspection and integrity management across the energy, marine and defence sectors.
O’Brien said: “Glacier Energy’s inspection services division has been gaining momentum, and I have been particularly impressed by recent long-term contract awards and ongoing strategic developments.
“I look forward to working with the team to support our growing client base, and further solidify our position as the trusted inspection services partner.”
Frank Lemmink has been appointed as the chief financial officer of Drax Group, the operator of the major 2.6GW Drax biomass power station.
Starting from 1 September, Lemmink will also join the board as an executive director of the company.
He comes to Drax from his previous role as executive vice-president for finance at Shell’s integrated gas and upstream business, which he has held since 2023.
In addition, his previous experience within Shell includes renewables and energy solutions, M&A, audit, as well as projects and technology.
Lemmink succeeds Andy Skelton, who will be retiring from the board and from his role as CFO. Skelton will step down from his role as a director of the company on 1 September 2025 but will continue to support the company in the succession process, until 4 December 2025.
Drax CEO Will Gardiner said that Lemmink “brings a wealth of experience and skills in financial control, project development, governance and capital allocation gained through over 20 years with Shell and will be a strong addition to the Drax team, as we develop opportunities for short, medium and long-term growth and value creation.
“I also extend the directors’ thanks again to Andy Skelton for his significant contribution to the group since 2019 and wish him well in his retirement.”
Drax Group saw a strong financial performance in 2024, largely driven by increased renewable energy generation.
Daniel Wisely has been promoted from a graduate engineer at waste-recycling group Banchory-headquartered Recycl8 to project engineer.
Having joined the company two years ago, his promotion reflects both Wisely’s contribution to the company and Recycl8’s aim to nurture talent.
A LinkedIn statement from the company said: “Daniel has demonstrated talent and commitment, and in his new role he’ll take on greater responsibilities across project delivery, technical co-ordination, and quality assurance – all vital to delivering our mission of creating a more sustainable construction industry.”
Recycl8 transforms incinerator bottom ash aggregate, often destined for landfill into a high-performance, sustainable, lower carbon concrete solution.
Paul Hudson has joined Ulverston-based Blueprint Subsea as its head of business development – defence.
Previously, he spent a year at Integrity HSE as its commercial director and three years at Maersk Training, holding roles including general manager for safety, survival and technical training.
Blueprint Subsea provides underwater acoustic products and has been part of the AION Group since January this year.
David Marshall has started a new position as regional director for Scotland and North of England at National Gas.
Marshall spent almost twelve years at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), including as international production manager. He most recently was EnQuest at for two years in Aberdeen, working as director of midstream.
Writing on LinkedIn, Marshall said: “It’s an exciting time for the business as we invest to secure the future provision of energy for the UK, whilst working to deliver ground breaking solutions for the energy transition.”
