Freeport-McMoRan strengthens its board of directors


Freeport-McMoRan has appointed two new members to its board of directors. The move comes a day after the company revealed it would be considering whether to make changes to the oil and gas side of its business. Andrew Langham and Courtney Mather will join the team which is comprised of 11 directors, nine independent directors and two executive directors.

Freeport-McMoRan reviews oil and gas business, makes changes to board


Freeport-McMoRan is set to review its strategic alternatives for oil and gas business as well as making changes to its board. The company said the move had been taken after “constructive” discussions with shareholders. Freeport will now evaluate alternative courses of action designed to enhance value and achieve self-funding of the company’s oil and gas business.

Statoil board member resigns


A member of the Statoil board of directors is set to resign from her position. Catherine Hughes will leave her current position in a bid to "avoid potential conflicts of interest" following a recent change of circumstances.

LGO appoints new board member


A new appointment has been made to the board of LGO. Fergus Jenkins will join the board after two years as the company’s chief operating officer. Mr Jenkins is a chartered engineer with more than 20 years’ experience working initially in mining before moving into petroleum.

Falcon Oil and Gas welcomes new board member

Falcon Oil and Gas has elected a new member to its board. Maxim Mayorets was appointed to the company's board of directors as a non-executive director at the annual general and special meeting of shareholders in Ireland. Mr Mayorets is currently a member of the executive board and head of mergers and acquisitions at Renova.
