BW Energy plans Gabon growth

BW Energy is planning to reach a final investment decision (FID) on its Ruche development, in Gabon’s Dussafu licence, in the last quarter of the year. Further growth is expected to come from August’s Hibiscus discovery. The company continues to hold the Kudu gas project, in Namibia, but like many others before it, progress appears slow.


Oil workers to end strike in Gabon

Oil workers are set to end a strike at French firm Maurel and Prom's Onal field in Gabon today after a deal was reached to reinstate dismissed personnel.

Prime Minister writes to President of Gabon over oil dispute

The Prime Minster has written to the President of Gabon in a disagreement between oil companies and the country’s petroleum ministry. According to reports, the move comes after previous interventions from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office were unable to solve the dispute. The petroleum ministry had expropriated assets from Tullow Oil as well as threatening oil giant Shell with a fine for alleged non-payment of back taxes.
