COUNCILLORS have urged their colleagues to continue lobbying the UK Government to reveal when householders can benefit from a renewable energy scheme.
ground-source heat pumps
MORE than half of the energy we use in Scotland goes to heat our buildings and homes. At the moment, much of this is provided by fossil fuels - gas in areas served by the gas grid, oil or electricity elsewhere. But the UK and Scottish Governments have important plans to encourage us to heat our buildings using renewable sources.
If Britain is ever going to meet its national carbon-reduction obligations, its commercial, industrial and public buildings need to improve from an average of an E energy rating today to C by 2020 and A by 2050, warns the Carbon Trust.
