Scotland deepens offshore wind collaboration with Taiwan

Scottish Development International (SDI) will lead Scotland’s largest ever offshore wind trade mission to Taiwan this month. A delegation of 16 Scottish companies specialising in offshore wind project development, construction, installation, operations, and maintenance will take part in Wind Energy Asia, Taiwan’s leading wind industry supply chain trade show. It will be held at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre from 9 to 11 March, where Scotland will have a pavilion for the first time.

Eni eyes more drilling offshore Vietnam

Italy’s Eni is believed to be carrying out studies in Blocks 115 and 116 offshore Vietnam with an eye to planning a single-well drilling campaign during the first-half 2022, Westwood Global Energy said in its latest report. The blocks are a short distance from Eni’s large Ken Bau discovery offshore Vietnam.

CNOOC launches China’s first offshore carbon capture project

China's top offshore oil and gas producer, CNOOC, has launched the country's first offshore carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in South China Sea, which is expected to store more than 1.46 million tonnes of carbon dioxide, reported Reuters.

Struggling Sembcorp Marine to raise $1.1 billion

Singapore offshore and marine giant Sembcorp Marine will raise S$1.5 billion (US$1.1 billion) in funds from a rights issue to support the company’s operations. The rig builder has been struggling with rising costs and delays to projects being built at its yards.
