A team from Norway’s offshore safety body will land on the Scarabeo 5 today to investigate the circumstances that caused a fire to break out on the rig on Tuesday.
Thirty-three workers were evacuated from a drilling rig in the Norwegian Sea yesterday after a fire broke out in one of its engine rooms.
A fire which broke out on the Scarabeo 5 drilling rig in the Norwegian Sea this evening has been brought under control, Statoil said.

Norwegian operator Statoil is looking to reactivate a suspended rig to carry out well plugging work in the North Sea. The Scarabeo 5 had previously been suspended by the company from October last year.
