Harkand has signed up Vard Holdings to design and build a dive support and construction vessel in an all-Norwegian deal worth more than £100million (NOK 1billion).
The Vard 3 03 class is specifically designed and equipped for diving and subsea operation duties.
The vessel will be fitted with a 250-ton offshore crane, a remotely operated vehicle hangar, and a twin bell 18-person saturation diving system capable of supporting split-level diving operations to a maximum diving depth of 300m.
The vessel is scheduled for delivery from Vard Soviknes in Norway in Q2 2016 and will be based on a hull fabricated at Vard Tulcea in Romania.
