North-east energy service company Plant Integrity Management (PIM) said yesterday its PIM Relief software was proving a hit in offshore operations globally.
The product – developed to manage all aspects of the pressure safety valve (PSV) workflow cycle – was released in May 2013 and is now in use on 55 assets in the North Sea and Middle East.
PIM, which his based at Kinellar, near Aberdeen, said it was currently being used to manage in the region of 6,000 PSVs and it expected uptake for the software to increase by 16% between now and the end of March.
Managing director Steven Plant added: “Predictions as to when the current (oil and gas) downturn will end vary, with 2016 appearing to be the earliest date that we might see an improvement.
“Companies are more focused than ever on reducing costs, while increasing efficiencies and maintaining the effective and safe running of their assets.
“PIM Relief is a paperless system which introduces numerous efficiencies to the management of PSVs, making it an even more attractive proposition to potential clients.”
The firm was established in 2011 to provide consultancy and strategic management support for critical plant and equipment – helping clients manage the function and integrity of their assets.
