PETRO-CANADA has apparently made a significant natural gas discovery in offshore Tobago deepwater block 22.
Local media said the company began drilling a four-well exploration programme offshore Castara and Charlotteville in November with the Diamond Offshore semi-submersible, Ocean Worker, and that the first of those wells, the Cassra-A, has resulted in a gas find that industry sources have suggested could be large.
Petro-Canada said only that it was conducting well testing operations on the Cassra-A well.
