THE Sovereign Oilfield Group set aside thoughts of a tough trading year by staging a midsummer ball in the ballroom of Glentanar Estate, near Aboyne.
Company chairman Peter Felter said calmer waters lay ahead after what had been stormy times. Guest speaker was Mearns raconteur Jim Brown, who became an MBE in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Guests donated £1,950 for the Anthony Nolan Trust, which the company will double.
