Sevan Drilling has advised that it has been necessary to suspend drilling operations with its new-build Sevan Brasil cylindrical drilling rig.
The company said that while testing the blowout preventer (BOP) problems were encountered with its control systems, making it necessary to pull the BOP to the surface to investigate and make the required repairs.
The Sevan Brasil commenced a six-year contract with Petrobras on July 24 and after a brief stand-by period, spudded its first well (1BRSA-1063-SPS) for the Brazilian national oil company on August 31.
