Harkand has landed a contract to conduct subsea inspection of Maersk’s floating production units and storage assets across four North Sea fields.
The DP2 multi-purpose vessel Relume will carry out inspection of Maersk’s floating units and subsea infrastructure in the Dumbarton, Gryphon, Janice and Leadon assets.
The deal is the latest for the firm, which was formed in February through the merger of Iremis, Integrated Subsea Services and Andrews Survey.
“We have had a very successful start to the year, winning a clutch of significant new contracts which justify our confidence in both our customers’ appetite for modern, high quality and cost effective tonnage and the huge growth in the global IRM market,” said Harkand European managing director David Kerr.
“This new contract recognises the continued investment in people and assets we have made in recent months and our capability to deliver significant IRM support to some of the world’s best known oil and gas operators.”
The Maersk contract comes just days after Harkand landed a multi-million pound deal to provide subsea inspection and repair on Apache’s Beryl field.
Harkand are set to invest around £20million in expanding its global remotely operated vehicles fleet by 25%, creating 30 new jobs – 15 in Aberdeen, and the rest in Asia.
