Norwegian oil giant Statoil says it expects to get its Visund platform back in production before the end of the week.
The company was forced to evacuate 84 workers from the North Sea platform on Sunday night after it lost power.
But despite the platform still being on emergency power, Statoil said it was looking to bring systems back online today, and resume production before the end of the week.
Technicians from the mainland were flown to the platform yesterday to fix the problem, but the company said it was still unsure what had caused the power outage.
“We see it as serious incident and will investigate it internally,” a spokesman for Statoil told Aftenbladet.
“We sent people out to investigate the incident. When we have to send people then it is a serious situation for us.”
