Aberdeen firm UTEC Geomarine has completed a key geotechnical survey programme for BP’s giant West of Shetland project.
The company gathered seabed data using its geoROV sampling system, in conjunction with vessel support work from Subsea 7.
Data gathered by the firm will be used by BP for the Quad 204 project, developing a new FPSO unit to replace the existing Schiehallion installation.
“Using a combination of the innovative technology we have available in our extensive portfolio, we were able to successfully complete this project in spite of challenging and variable conditions,”said UTEC technology director Jim Edmunds.
