Underwater inspection firm 2G Robotics has chosen Aberdeen for its UK base as it looks to up its North Sea presence.
The Canadian company is aiming to strengthen its services offering to its existing client base in the region by setting up a local office.
“Having an office in Aberdeen is the right next step to take in order to be fully available to our growing customer base in the United Kingdom, Norway and the rest of Europe,” said Jason Gillham, 2G Robotics’ chief executive.
“We’re delighted that companies in the region have responded so well to our solutions and we look forward to being more accessible.”
The boost in sales of the company’s equipment to the North Sea oil and gas sector, including the recently released ULS-500 underwater scanner, has contributed to the decision, Gillham added.
