The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NDA) has granted Equinor a drilling permit for a section of the North Sea.
The licence will see Equinor drill a wildcat well at block 16/5, about 1.8 miles west of the southern part of the Johan Sverdrup field.
The well will be drilled by the Transocean Spitsbergen drilling rig.
Equinor operates 44.44% of the block with Petoro (33.33%) and Aker BP (22.22%).
