When applied within the renewable energy sector, high-level applications include deployment to wind turbines, steam turbines, compressors (centrifugal or reciprocating), gearboxes and other general lubricated oil machines.
Beyond just “monitoring” oil conditions, the accompanying software analyses and provides predictive maintenance data. Thanks to specific sensors within the system, accurate oil condition data can be collected, including particle counter (ISO 4408, NAS 1638 standards), viscosity, water detection, oil degradation and process parameters (temperature, pressure, etc).
Collected data can be easily transferred to a web-based platform or local DCS or third-party machine monitoring software, with the possibility to customise alarms, notifications and other parameters.
Benefits include cost and time savings, real-time analysis, reliability and digitisation. Thus, with the Monitoil system, manual intervention to sample oil circuit(s) is removed.
