Belarus has started importing oil from Norway after its main oil provider, Russia, suspended supplies earlier this month amid stalled talk on further strengthening economic ties between two countries.
Russia has halted oil supplies to Belarus as talks on strengthening economic ties remained stalled over concerns that Moscow could effectively swallow up its neighbour.
Belarus has settled its $726million debt for gas supplied by Gazprom in 2016-17, the Russian energy giant said.
Russia and Belarus are said to be close to solving a dispute over gas prices.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia said the gas price for Belarus would not be changes and he hoped a debt dispute between the two countries would be resolved within the next two weeks.
