Mozambique sacks heads of state energy companies
Mozambique's government has sacked the heads of the state energy companies responsible for overseeing the development of huge offshore gas reserves, cabinet said late on Tuesday. The chairmen of Mozambique's National Hydrocarbons Company (ENH) and the National Institute of Petroleum (INP) had been removed, a statement following a cabinet meeting said, without giving a reason. Nelson Ocuane has been replaced as chairman of the ENH by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Omar Mitha.

Anadarko picks contractor for Mozambique LNG
Anadarko Petroleum has selected a consortium for the initial development of the onshore LNG park in Mozambique. The company said work will be carried out by the group, which includes Chiyoda Corporation, Saipem and CB&I, in the country's offshore area 1. The scope of the work includes for the onshore LNG park, which includes two LNG trains.
Mozambique delays fifth oil and gas bid round
Mozambique's fifth oil and gas bid round has been delayed from its April 30th deadline. The government did say why the deadline had been extended to a later date of July 30th. There are 15 exploration blocks on offer, including three new areas of the northern Rovuma Basin.
Wentworth commences drilling in Mozambique
Wentworth said it has commenced drilling operations from its Kifaru-1 exploration well in the Rovuma onshore concession in Northern Mozambique. The company, which has an 11.59% net interest in the well, said it has a planned total depth of 4,050metres and will take 70 days to complete. It is being drilled with the Helmerich & Payne rig #243.
