Rockhopper to have another go at Isobel Deep reservoir


Rockhopper Exploration has reached an agreement to drill a further well on the Isobel/Elaine complex in the North Falkland Basin. The company said the re-drill well will target the Isobel Deep reservoir which has oil bearing in well 14/20-1 but could not be logged or sampled for mechanical reasons. This new well will be drilled 4km from the original bore and is also expected to encounter additional reservoir targets in the Elaine South and Isobel Shallow fans.

Rockhopper strikes deal for Beach Energy assets in Egypt


Rockhopper Exploration has agreed on an asset purchase deal with Beach Energy that will give it a number of assets in Egypt in a $22million deal. The move will see the company gain a 22% interest in the Abu Sennan concession and a 25% interest in the El Qa’a Plain concession. Rockhopper said the headline consideration for the deal is $22million payable to Beach Energy through a combination of cash and the issue of the Rockhopper consideration shares.

Premier and Rockhopper make further Falkland discovery


Premier Oil said a further oil discovery has been made in the Isobel deep exploration well in waters off the coast of the Falklands. The find is believed to have similar properties to the discovery which was made at the Sea Lion project. Premier exploration director Andrew Lodge said:"This is an important play opening discovery in the previously unexplored southern area of Licence PL004.


Rockhopper awarded stake in Croatian block


Rockhopper Exploration has been awarded a 40% share in an offshore block in Croatia in a partnership deal with Eni. Block 9 is located in shallow waters of the Northern Adriatic gas province and contains the previously discovered Ksenija accumulation along with the Klaudija prospect. The company said the anticipated work programme consists of seismic acquisition, processing and re-processing during the first exploration phase, with the drilling of a well in the second exploration phase.
